Re: Different font look at the same font setting by bdrumsbdrummer » Sat May 07, 2011 11:35 pm Another thing that I would try for this is select the text from the first website with the more bolded text, click the Format Paintbrush button, and then highlight the text from the second website and that should do it also.
- “What is a cursive font I can use on Microsoft Word?” Any typeface design that is classified as a script (what you call cursive) font or other font that you have as part of the font library on the computer you use. These fonts will work with Word or other applications. There are thousands of different typeface designs in use today.
- How do I change the font used by numbers, or numerics, in a Word 2007 document? For the rest of the document, they would be using another font for the letters and such, but I would like the numbers to be in a different font altogether.
Hide AllKeywords change default font; default font size; word default fontSetting a default font ensures that every new document you open will use the font settings that you selected and set as the default. The default font applies to new documents that are based on the activetemplate (template: A file or files thatcontain the structure and tools for shaping such elements as the style and page layout of finished files.
For example, Word templates can shape a single document, and FrontPage templates can shape an entire Web site.), usually Normal.dotm. Youcan create different templates to use different default font settings.Note In Microsoft Office Word 2007, you can quickly and easily format an entire document to give it a professional and modern look by applying a document theme.
A document theme is a set of formatting choices that can include a color scheme(a set of colors), a font scheme (a set of heading and body text fonts), and an effects scheme (a set of lines and fill effects).Set the default font. If your document already contains text that is formatted with the properties that you want to use, select that text.If you are starting from a blank document, go to step 2. On the Home tab, click the Font Dialog Box Launcher, and then click the Font tab.
Select the options that you want to apply to the default font, such as font style and font size. If you selected text in step 1, the properties of the selected text are set in the dialog box. My question is similar to Grandy 123 but I also want to change the default page margins and paragraph spacing. I have tried the following which I think is what you are suggesting;open Word, click 'file', then 'open', then 'templates' and open 'normal'. There is no 'file and open' in Word 2007. You should click the Office button (looks like a pizza top left of the Word screen).Select Open and then locate the normal template which is normal.dotm.Make your changes to the margins and styles as preferred then save (not Save As) and close. Then when you want to create a document, you click Office Button then New Blank Document.Note that you can change the margins without opening the template from the Page Layout tab Page Setup click the arrow in the bottom right corner. Make your changes and click the default button in that dialog.
The settings should stick if you allow Wordto save the normal template when prompted on Closing Word. If you are not getting a prompt, then set it from Word Options Advanced Save Prompt before saving normal template.

I have tried the following which I think is what you are suggesting;open Word, click 'file', then 'open', then 'templates' and open 'normal'. Like the others you are not saving the changes to the normal template, so they apply only to the current document. The simplest plan is to open the normal template (normal.dotn) in Word, make the change, add a character to the text space, delete it, save the template and close it. Email address is removed for privacy.I am trying to set as default the size and font when a Word document opens, i.e., Arial 12Like the others, my default choice does not stay. It is only good for 1 document and then reverts back to the calibri font which seems to be the orginal default.Graham Mayor - Word MVPPosted via the Communities BridgeGraham Mayor (Microsoft Word MVP) For more Word tips and downloads visit my web site https://www.gmayor.com/Wordpages.htm. The installation default style, when you start typing in a document is the Normal style. In Word 2007, that style will be highlighted in the Quick Styles gallery on the home tab. Word 2016 default fonts in tables are different from text outside of tables. My fonts in Design Fonts are Header (Georgia) and Calibri (Body). All styles outside of tables work as expected. If the working style are converted to tables the fonts become Georgia. If I change Design Fonts to another font set (Franklin Gothic for example), all text changes to that set outside of tables. Inside the tables the default font is Georgia.Default font is Calibri (Body) but Reveal Formatting shows it as (Default) Georgia. In Reveal Formatting the FONT is (Default) + Body (Calibri) outside of tables but as soon as the text is converted to a table the FONT is (Default) Georgia. Note that there is no + in the font name.In other words, Default font outside of tables is Body (Calibri) and inside of tables is (Default) Georgia.
In all cases the font size is 12.Inside of Table:Outside of Table. Make sure that the font defined in the Normal style is identical to the font defined in your document defaults. Once you have done that, Word will make use of the font defined in the table style, or the font used in the paragraph style applied to the cells.(This peculiar link between document defaults and the Normal style is a bit confusing and the explanation is that it is a result of the formatting and style hierarchy in Word.)You'll find the document default settings on the Set Defaults tab of the Manage Styles dialog box (which you can open by clicking the Manage Styles icon on the Styles pane).
