WCIF Good, anatomically-correct default replacement skintones? So with everyone moving on to Sims 3 and 4, I'm afraid I'm stuck scouring the web for old material for my Sims 2 game.Anyway, I've got a pretty good number of interesting skintones, a few of which are anatomically-correct - for adults and (maybe) teens. However, I'm wanting to wipe all NPCs and Townies and create a new neighborhood, and I want to set up a default skin set for townies that is A-C, as far as possible.
Plus, I'd love to find a basic template for all-age A-C skintones, so I can work on creating several alien races. It's just annoying to me that as a middle-aged Sims enthusiast, I'm still reduced to Barbie dolls in many cases instead of realistic humanoids. Also, is there any reason why it seems a large number of the darkest skintones I have suffer a mis-match in tone between the face and body? Thanks for the advice! There are still a lot of sim sites around for TS2.
You might try the sister site to this one (Sexy Sims 2) for anatomically correct skins (I can't remember what is there). But I just really wanted to say something about defaults. Kind of reading between the lines of your post, it seems you think that you need to have the skins in place before you create the new hood or the townies won't get them. That's not how defaults work - they just replace the EAxis skintone at whatever point you put them into the game. If you remove them, the sims revert back to the original skintone.
All defaults work like this. Kind of reading between the lines of your post, it seems you think that you need to have the skins in place before you create the new hood or the townies won't get them. All defaults work like this. Then I guess I'm not working my defaults right. I've been using a set of partially AC skintones for my creations, but every townie shows up Barbie. But when I'm in CAS, the defaults have the upper-body details. I don't know why it's mis-matched, then.I may just pull my whole skintone (and default replacement) file and re-insert one at a time until it works right. As for Sexy Sims, that would be great, except I'm limited at the moment to public library internet access - which means a LOT of blocked domains. (They even blocked my cloud storage site!! Wonder why.) Same thing with Insimadult.
So I was hoping I could find something that might not be on one of those sites. But thanks for helping out! I'm also going to do a quick search for replacing default skintone tutorial.
I might like to do a neighborhood of all Aliens at some point! The really nice skintones (imo) made by people like Pooklet, Mouseyblue, Lilith, Trapping, CuriousB, are all anatomically correct on top but not on bottom.

But you can get default replacement meshes for the nude bottom mesh on SexySims, for both males and females. You said you wanted alien skintones, you should check out Furbyq, Blue Heaven Sims, and Sneebs.
