Hence the 528-esque pipes on the left?You can get LED's with the LED lighting option ($1900) I guess BMW is saying that if you want LED you need to pay for it (but they will give you LED fog lights with a line) really makes no sense.

So BMW increases the starting price by $2,000 and takes away features?! BMW has it backwards; they give the pre-LCI LEDs and take them away on the LCI? The only explanation is that they're trying to force buyers into getting the lighting package.On the MY11 F10 (528 to be exact), you had to buy the lighting package to have front LED turn signals but in 2012 they were made standard; so maybe BMW will make them standard again for MY15, or maybe that's just wishful thinking.On a good note, this makes me feel better about having a 2013 over the 2014 LCI. Yeah they did, but still, BMW should not take away features, they should at the very least keep everything from the pre-LCI. Adding nav should not be an excuse to remove previous features to make up for one new standard option to save them money.

Not exactly acceptable for a $50K+ car.Look, the whole idea of the 'Lines' is to generate revenue. That's how they got the 328i to reach into $50K+ territory. Besides, even some items on the 2011 F10 were a ripoff, which I refused to buy into. On my previous 335i, of course I bought Comfort Access for $500. Then it included keyless start as well as keyless lock/unlock. How many people paid $1000, twice the price, for CA on their F10, where the main item, keyless start, was then standard?

Sorry, but I don't mind reaching into my pocket to hit unlock on the fob for $1000. It should have been $250 at that point.I doubt if anyone really cares enough to spend $1900 for the LED headlight option 'just' because they are now given halogen turn signals. C'mon.Now, removing fog lights on the standard non-line trim level, that's a slap in the face. How about packaging Sirius into the Premium Package (as of 2012)? Another slap. I paid for CA on my E60 and would do it again. I would also pay for the LEDs and I'm more worried about what appears to be a lack of projector lights with the LED package.

Are the costs excessive, sure. Do I think about it during the life of the car? And I always hated it when I drove a car that didn't have CA. These are all things that you have a choice to either buy or not buy. I will never complain about having that option.

What I would gripe about is not being able to get an option such as color combination without paying a $5000 premium simply because it's not available in one line but not in another. Frankly, I would be quite happy with an a la carte menu option and the price of my car would easily climb to what I felt comfortable paying. But I could get the colors, wheels and options I wanted. I'm also more upset that the I6 engine wasn't upgraded and I would have been very happy with a 540i (Inline6) or the real 535d.
